In order to take advantage of the higher concrete strength, it will probably
be necessary to use 0.6 in. (15.2 mm) diameter prestressing strand. Use of
this strand may require adjustments at the precasting facility.
If high-durability concrete is used, it will probably have a higher
compressive strength than the concrete typically used. It may be possible
to take advantage of the higher strength in design. It will probably not be
possible to do so for bridge decks where reducing deck thickness is not an
advantage,
