Placement of concrete in a slab on ground. The contractor, with the assistance of the silica fume supplier, conducted extensive training for finishing crews before the actual placements began. This training allowed the crews to place and finish using the "one-pass" technique described in Chapter 4 of this presentation. Note the application of curing compound to protect the concrete immediately behind the finishing.
